Linn Meyers, a Cooper Union and California College of the Arts graduate, is an American artist with a focus on the uniqueness of each individual line making up an image. For years she thought that the mathematical approach of art through the use of rules and systems were what made a piece undeniably good. However, she found through her own mistakes in using these rules, that imperfections were what made a piece worth-while, in her mind. As such, she took to embrace these imperfect patterns.
I have to agree with Meyers, the beauty of her work is in the way she captures a piece through the use of just line work. Intricate line work, but line work nonetheless. It’s quite awe-inspiring seeing the scale of her art but also the quality of lines she puts out, and just how she puts out those lines. She has a lot of patience to sit and work on massive works of art with such a meticulous line style. I’m not even sure if I could handle knowing how many hours she puts into just one work.
